1. How and when do I apply for exemptions?

The exemption forms can be picked up in the Assessors’ Office or you can give the office a call at (631)765-1937 and they will mail them to you. You may also download the forms from the website. The deadline for filing exemptions each year is March 1st. For forms click here.

2. I am planning to build (or make addition to) my residence. Is there a way of calculating the tax consequences?

Yes, contact the Assessors Office and an estimate will be done for you. A copy of the blueprints will be helpful when calculating the estimate.

3. I have lost the deed to my property, how can I replace it?

4. I need copies of surrounding property record cards, are they available?

Fill out the FOIL request at the Town Clerk’s Office or on our website. Allow up to 5 business days for our office to have your request ready for you. You are permitted only 4 property cards per day. There is a 25 cent charge for each side of the property record card.
