The “Reuse Area” is a FREE materials exchange facility at the Transfer Station where residents can drop off – and pick up - items in useable condition that are no longer wanted by the owner. Examples of useable items accepted are:
Baby things (playpen, strollers, and high chairs (NO CAR SEATS)
- Bicycles
- Books
- Cookware
- Decorations
- Furniture
- Radios
- Small kitchen appliances
- Tools
- Toys
The key word here is “useable” – while one person’s junk may well be another’s treasure, items in disrepair or which are not readily useable are not normally removed and usually results in the Town having to pay for their disposal. For this reason, the gate attendant at the facility has final discretion for items accepted.
