NOTICE TO BIDDERS

FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE

AIRFIELD ELECTRICAL VAULT REHABILITATION PROJECT

AT

ELIZABETH FIELD AIRPORT

FISHERS ISLAND

TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, NEW YORK

Sealed proposals for the construction of the Airfield Electrical Vault Rehabilitation Contract will be received at the Town Clerk’s Office, 53095 Route 25, Southold, New York 11971, until 2:00 P.M., local time, May 30, 2019, and there, at said office, at said time, publicly opened and read aloud.

This project involves minor rehabilitation of an existing 265 sq.ft. electrical vault, including replacing miscellaneous airfield lighting equipment, minor interior and exterior structural and architectural repairs, installation of a new interior shelving system for equipment, and installation of new HVAC system.

The Contract Documents (consisting of the Advertisement, the Proposal, the Contract Form, and the Specifications) and the Contract Drawings may be obtained only by downloading the documents from a OneDrive sharepoint site. Access can be obtained by contacting Thomas Horth of C&S Engineers, Inc. at thorth@cscos.com where the Contractor’s name, contact name, address, telephone number, and email address will be recorded on the plan holders list. There is no charge to download the contract documents and contract drawings. Submitted proposals that were not recorded on the plan holders list shall be considered non-responsive.

Copies of the above described Contract Documents may be examined at no expense at the Town Clerk’s Office, 53095 Route 25, Southold, New York 11971; C&S Engineers, Inc., 499 Col. Eileen Collins Boulevard, Syracuse, New York 13212; and at the Fishers Island Ferry District Office on Fishers Island.

Bidders may inspect the property upon which the work is to occur. The property is located at the Elizabeth Field Airport, Fishers Island, New York, 06390. Bidders must contact Gordon Murphy, Assistant Airport  Manager, Fishers Island Ferry District (Phone: (631) 788-7463, ext. 201) at least 24-hours in advance to coordinate site access. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum proposal price (combination of base bid or alternate bid plus add-on items) for the contract in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Preparation of Proposal.

The Southold Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any and all informalities in any bid should it be deemed in the best interest of the Town of Southold to do so. All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked “AIRFIELD ELECTRICAL VAULT REHABILITATION PROJECT AT THE ELIZABETH FIELD AIRPORT” and submitted to the Town Clerk.

The bid price shall not include any tax, federal, state, or local, from which the Town of Southold is exempt.
