Southold Animal Shelter Solar Project

Construction is expected to begin in Mid-April and last until Mid-June with solar panels being installed in the dog pen area. Intermittent closures will take place in parking areas and on walkways.

Parts of the parking lot located at 970 Peconic Lane in Peconic will be closed off to the public for drainage and new asphalt work during April and May. You will be directed to park in different areas of the parking lot as well as in the Community Center.

New NYS Law Requires Smoke Alarm Upgrades by April 1, 2019

Effective April 1, 2019, a new NY State law requires all NEW or REPLACEMENT smoke alarms in New York State to be powered by a 10-year, sealed, non-removable battery, or hardwired to the home.
